Strings Scholarships

These scholarships may apply to any string student
in the School of Music who meets the stated criteria.

THE CLIFFORD A. AND ROSA JULSTROM SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established in 1987 by Dr. Clifford A. and Rosa Julstrom. Clifford came to ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app in 1936 and was Chairperson of the Music Department from 1949-1969. He organized, directed, and played violin in the first ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Symphony. The recipient must be a junior music major in the string program, and earn at least 3.0 GPA. Amount varies.

THE LILLIAN RUTH ROBERTSON SCHOLARSHIP IN STRINGS

This scholarship was established in 1984 by Ms. Virginia Erman in honor of her mother Lillian Ruth Robertson. The recipient(s) for this scholarship must be a music major, and participate in ensembles. Amount varies.

DR. TANYA LESINSKY CAREY SUZUKI FUND SCHOLARSHIP

The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Suzuki Strings Program has been granting scholarships since its inception in 1972. The origin of the funds was from the donation of free lesson fees paid by Suzuki families for Almita Vamos and Tanya Carey. In 1999, after the termination of the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Suzuki Program, the scholarship was renamed in honor of Tanya Lesinsky Carey. Recipients must be a string music major. Amount varies.
