Discover the World of Cybersecurity
The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app GenCyber Cybersecurity Student Camp, sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA), provides high school students an opportunity to explore the exciting and growing field of cybersecurity—at no cost to participants. We will select 30 high school students (15 male and 15 female) with little to no prior cybersecurity experience to participate in a residential camp at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Throughout the week, students will gain hands-on experience and explore the many possibilities within cybersecurity. The camp will introduce students to:- Cybersecurity concepts and fundamentals
- Cybersecurity ethics
- Cybersecurity careers
- Online safety and security
- Team building
- Problem-solving
- Collaborative, hands-on activities

The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app GenCyber Cybersecurity Student Camp is designed to increase students’ awareness of and interest in cybersecurity and cybersecurity careers. Through engaging activities, teamwork, and real-world cybersecurity concepts, students will develop valuable skills while discovering the many career opportunities available in this dynamic field. The program is committed to promoting diversity in cybersecurity and creating an inclusive learning environment where students can build confidence, explore their interests, and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom.An Experience That Lasts a Lifetime
Students will leave the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app GenCyber Cybersecurity Student Camp with new knowledge, valuable skills, and a greater understanding of cybersecurity and its role in our increasingly connected world. - Increase awareness of and interest in cybersecurity among high school students.
- Provide students from rural communities with opportunities to explore cybersecurity.
- Create a safe and welcoming environment where students can build friendships with peers who share an interest in cybersecurity and continue developing those interests.
- Foster an understanding of ethical decision-making and responsible behavior in cybersecurity.
- Develop participants' leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Introduce students to the goals and core concepts of the GenCyber program while exploring educational and career pathways in cybersecurity.
