Lecture on Louisiana Creoles
Our own Dr. Jeffery Darensbourg, a librarian here at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app, will give a lecture, "Louisiana's Creoles of Color: Family Stories of Cultural Identity," on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Garden Lounge of the Malpass Library.
Darensbourg, who is ethnically a Louisiana Creole himself, will discuss the culture, heritage, and attitudes of the Bayou State's mixed-race people of color, using his own family's anecdotes, photos, and history as examples. This lecture is proudly presented by the University Libraries in honor of Black History Month. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
