MACOMB, IL - - The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Illinois University School of Agriculture is proud to welcome Dusti Ingles to its faculty as an assistant professor of Agricultural Education.
Ingles brings a local flavor to the University, coming from nearby Rushville. The 2017 ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app teacher education graduate returns to Macomb after earning her masters and Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from Iowa State University. She hopes to carry on the tradition of excellence she experienced at the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app School of Agriculture.
"After graduating from ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app in 2017, I taught high school Agriculture in Illinois for three years," Ingles said. "I was inspired by Dr. Andrew Baker's impact on teachers in the state."
ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Director of the School of Agriculture Keela Trennepohl said Ingles brings enthusiasm and a strong vision for the future to the University which will be invaluable.
"Her excitement to join our team, enthusiasm to help students succeed and vision to recruit students and serve the students of FFA across Illinois make her an undeniable asset to the School of Agriculture," Trennepohl said. "Dr. Ingles elevates the School of Agriculture to a new level ushering our program into a new era of ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Agriculture."
Ingles was drawn back to ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app in part because of its recognition as an Opportunity University by Carnegie.
"As a first-generation college student, I've benefited from ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app's commitment to increasing graduates' socioeconomic status," Ingles said. "I believe in the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app's vision to serve the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Illinois region by centering academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth and social responsibility. I'm excited to be home, doing what I love in the community I care deeply about."
