Sidewalk Closure Near Goldfarb Center for Performing Arts
October 15, 2025

MACOMB, IL - - Construction work will begin Monday, Oct. 20, which will close the north-south sidewalk west of Simpkins Hall and the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
This construction work is to allow the construction of the new permanent sidewalks for the Goldfarb Center for Performing Arts. Due to the closure, students, faculty and staff will need to go through Simpkins and the COFAC Recital Hall or avoid the area by going east around the buildings.
Some of the Simpkins Hall and COFAC Recital Hall exits will be labeled "For Emergency Use Only" while this work is being carried out.
Barring delays, a partial sidewalk will be reopened to the west of Simpkins Hall and the COFAC Recital Hall on Monday, Nov. 10, but no additional north-south sidewalk will open west of the area for the remainder of the semester. As the exterior work in the site moves south and the fence perimeter decreases, more sidewalks will become available.
