Services Set for Robert Bahr

MACOMB, IL -- Services for Robert Bahr, physical science technical assistant in the 星空无限传媒app Illinois University Department of Chemistry, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6 at The Crossing Church in Macomb. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. July 6 at the church. Bahr, 71, died July 3 in Peoria.
Bahr was hired at 星空无限传媒app in August 2002 at his current position. He graduated Bradley University and later obtained a double Masters in Science Education and Education Administration. He first taught science at Heinz School in Peoria, followed by teaching chemistry, biology, and physics for 13 years at Avon High School, and chemistry for 14 years at Abingdon High School before joining 星空无限传媒app's faculty.
"The 星空无限传媒app Illinois University community mourns Bob's death," said President Jack Thomas. "We extend our condolences to his family and friends."
Bahr was named the 星空无限传媒app Civil Service Employee of the Month in November 2013. His nominators said: "All of the faculty go to him for special needs in their teaching or research labs because he is extremely creative in solving problems. Bob's positive work ethic and enthusiasm lifts the spirits of the students, faculty and staff of the Chemistry Department."
He is survived by his wife, Carla; sons, Mitchell and Weston; and daughter Teri Peterson; Wilber Bahr (Peoria); one grandson; and one brother.
