Danticat to Present as Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer in Residence at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app

MACOMB, IL – The ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app Illinois University Department of English will host the Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer in Residence at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 24 in the Sherman Hall third floor auditorium. The event is open free to the public.
Nationally-recognized author Edwidge Danticat will read from her newest book during the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app event. She has written numerous books, including "Claire of the Sea Light," a New York Times notable book; "Brother, I'm Dying," a National Book Critics Circle Award winner and a National Book Award finalist; "Breath, Eyes, Memory," an Oprah Book Club selection; "Krik? Krak!," a National Book Award finalist;
The Farming of Bones," an American Book Award winner; and "The Dew Breaker," a PEN-Faulkner Award finalist and winner of the inaugural Story Prize.
The recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, Danticat has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times and elsewhere. She currently lives in Miami, FL.
The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence supports bringing national writers of poetry and fiction to ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½app each year.
