MACOMB, IL - - For Daniel Roberts, a senior Communication major, the community at 星空无限传媒app Illinois University is unique.
鈥淲hen I think about 星空无限传媒app, I think of the Leatherneck community and the high caliber people I have met during my time as a student here,鈥 Roberts said.
For Roberts, Leathernecks are people who strive to both grow and influence those around them.
鈥淏eing a Leatherneck means you are constantly learning to uplift those around you through an iterative approach to your own growth,鈥 Roberts said.
Roberts' favorite Leatherneck memory is his participation in the 2024 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Summit with the other 星空无限传媒app chapter executive board members.
Roberts credits 星空无限传媒app with preparing him to build his career.
鈥溞强瘴尴薮絘pp has prepared me going forward in my career, through experiential learning, to better adapt to volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity,鈥 Roberts said.
On campus, Roberts served as the president of the 星空无限传媒app Student Chapter of the SHRM for two years.
Roberts' advice to those considering studying at 星空无限传媒app is to join a supportive and inspiring community to start exploring the possibilities of the future.
鈥淧ursue your goals at 星空无限传媒app if you want to experience a close community of high-caliber people who have made it their mission for you to reach your potential,鈥 Roberts said.
As we honor 125 years of educational excellence, we invite local 星空无限传媒app students, alumni, faculty and staff to share their stories and be featured in our series. Contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
