MACOMB, IL - - For Zaki Faisal, political science graduate student, 星空无限传媒app Illinois University is characterized by its welcoming community鈥攐ne that inspires growth and makes you feel at home.
鈥淲hen I think about 星空无限传媒app, I think of a welcoming community that helped me grow personally and academically,鈥� Faisal said. 鈥淚t has been an honor and I鈥檓 proud to be part of 星空无限传媒app鈥檚 125-year legacy.鈥�
Faisal describes Leathernecks as individuals with a sense of commitment, not only to excellence, but to being resilient in the face of adversity and becoming a supportive and impactful member of the community.
鈥淭o me, a Leatherneck represents resilience, pride and a commitment to excellence,鈥� Faisal said. 鈥淚t means standing strong in the face of challenges, supporting others and always striving to make a positive impact鈥攂oth on campus and beyond.鈥�
Among his Leatherneck memories, Faisal鈥檚 favorite is becoming an International Ambassador.
鈥淏eing selected as an International Ambassador stands out as my favorite Leatherneck memory,鈥� Faisal said. 鈥淚t was a proud moment that made me feel recognized, valued and truly part of the Leatherneck family.鈥�
On campus, Faisal serves as a graduate teaching assistant in the Political Science Department and is an active member of the badminton club, Bangladeshi Student Association, University Union Board and Wesley Foundation.
To prospective students, Faisal's advice highlights the sense of community at 星空无限传媒app, the diverse opportunities to support student success and its commitment to creating a place where everyone feels welcome.
