MACOMB, IL 鈥� 鈥� Alan Andrews, building service worker with Facilities Management at 星空无限传媒app Illinois University, has been named the August 2025 Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Andrews consistently demonstrates exceptional enthusiasm in his role, especially when responding to multiple service requests throughout the day. His nominator highlighted his efficient work, even when various departments reach out independently for the same support, Andrews handles each task with patience and commitment to service.

鈥淗is consistent willingness to assist without frustration or hesitation shows a genuine investment in the needs of the University community,鈥� his nominator said.

Andrews plays a critical role in shaping the first impressions visitors and students form of the University. During routine tasks, he consistently exceeds expectations to address key problem areas, demonstrating a clear commitment to the overall well-being of the university beyond his assigned responsibilities.

鈥淐leanliness is often the first鈥攁nd sometimes the most lasting鈥攄etail people notice when entering a space. Andrews鈥檚 meticulous attention to detail in keeping entryways, restrooms and public spaces clean and presentable ensures that prospective students, visiting families and camp attendees view the University in a positive light,鈥� his nominator said.

The impact of Andrews鈥檚 work is felt throughout the campus; he embodies 星空无限传媒app's core values through both actions and attitude. His dedication to cleanliness and safety enhances the learning environment, directly supporting students鈥� success by ensuring spaces are welcoming and distraction-free.

鈥淲hen Andrews is present, there is a noticeable difference. He assists multiple offices and departments without hesitation, making sure every area is ready for use by staff, students and guests,鈥� his nominator said.

As the Civil Service Employee of the Month, Andrews will receive a $100 stipend (before taxes), a plaque, a reserved parking space and recognition in 星空无限传媒app communications. He will also be eligible for the Civil Service Employee of the Year Award in December.

The Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month Award was established in 2010 through an endowment created by the Goldfarbs. The 星空无限传媒app Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the annual Employee of the Year Award.
