Keynote Speaker
Janet Moore
Math Instructional Coach with a passion for empowering students and teachers to be confident, curious, and competent mathematicians, regardless of their past experiences in mathematics.
Janet draws upon a unique combination of formal and informal teaching experiences including: teaching high school mathematics at Bureau Valley High School; teaching developmental mathematics at Illinois State University; integrating math, science, and ELA into simulated space mission experiences at the Challenger Learning Center; translating NASA's high-energy astrophysics missions into 碍鈥12 lessons; and providing professional development for teachers on behalf of ISBE, NSF, and MSP during the transition to Common Core and NGSS standards.
In her curriculum development and professional development endeavors, Janet emphasizes an inquiry-based, SEL-focused approach to mathematics instruction that allows students and teachers to understand mathematical concepts through meaningful experiences.

Closing Talk
Transforming My Students, My Classroom, and Myself (碍鈥14)
As educators demand change in the world of education, it is important to set a vision for what that change might look like and what its ultimate goals might be. Establishing a coherent vision requires deep reflection about our students, our classrooms, and ourselves as teachers. In this presentation, we will attempt to define the types of transformation we want to see in our students, and we will grapple with the type of transformation that will be necessary in ourselves and our classrooms in order to achieve that vision.
Speaker: Janet Moore 聽|聽 Time: 1:45鈥2:45 p.m.
